In the week ending Feb. 7, one gas station in Union County sold premium gas at the lowest reported price of $2.95 per gallon, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.

Premium gas prices averaged $3.40 per gallon in Union County.

Among 92 gas stations in cities within Union County, 28 offered premium gas.

For comparison, the average price of premium gas in North Carolina was $3.54 per gallon for the week ending Feb. 7, down from the previous week.

U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
