On Friday, March 28, former Weddington High School standout Jadyn Howell’s current college team, the North Carolina Tar Heels, lost 7-5 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Syracuse Orange.
The game took place at Skytop Softball Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Orange this season.
The Tar Heels’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, March 30 at 10 a.m. at Skytop Softball Stadium against Syracuse Orange.

The House has passed Congressman Mark Harris’s Cashless Bail Reporting Act requiring federal reporting on jurisdictions using cashless bail for serious offenses. Harris says this measure aims at greater transparency following concerns over recent violent crimes.
The City of Monroe has launched its new mass notification system called Monroe Alerts. Residents can now receive emergency updates as well as community news via text message, phone call or email.
