On Saturday, March 29, former Union Academy standout Carter DeVore’s current college team, the Wingate Bulldogs, won 6-1 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the Anderson Trojans.
The game took place at Anderson Memorial Stadium. This was their third matchup against the Trojans this season.
The Bulldogs’ next game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1 at 3 p.m. at Ron Christopher Stadium against Belmont Abbey Crusaders.

The House has passed Congressman Mark Harris’s Cashless Bail Reporting Act requiring federal reporting on jurisdictions using cashless bail for serious offenses. Harris says this measure aims at greater transparency following concerns over recent violent crimes.
The City of Monroe has launched its new mass notification system called Monroe Alerts. Residents can now receive emergency updates as well as community news via text message, phone call or email.
