On Wednesday, April 16, former Porter Ridge High School standouts Kayla Purdy and Madison Stamper’s current college team, the Valparaiso Beacons, lost 5-1 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Illinois Fighting Illini.

The game took place at Eichelberger Field. This was their first matchup against the Fighting Illini this season.

The Beacons’ next game is scheduled for Thursday, April 17 at 5 p.m. at E.S. Rose Park against Belmont Bruins.
