Rep. Dan Bishop, a member of the U.S. Congress representing North Carolina’s 8th district, has shared his thoughts on recent legislative developments through a series of tweets. Bishop, who succeeded Robert Pittenger in 2019 and has an extensive political background in North Carolina, offered insights into the fiscal challenges faced by lawmakers.

On June 4, 2025, Rep. Dan Bishop addressed criticisms regarding a particular bill, acknowledging that some critics are “in good faith and appropriately concerned about the magnitude of the fiscal task before us.” Despite these concerns, he noted that many have voted for it in the House and expressed hope they would do so in the Senate because they recognize its significance. Born in Charlotte in 1964, he continues to reside there and holds degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
