Rep. Mark Harris announced on January 12, 2026, that the House of Representatives passed his bipartisan bill aimed at addressing child exploitation. The bill, titled the Child Predators Accountability Act, is intended to close legal loopholes and ensure stricter accountability for offenders.

In a post made on January 12, 2026, Harris stated: “MY CHILD PREDATORS ACCOUNTABILITY ACT JUST PASSED THE HOUSE! Protecting innocent children from exploitation must have no loopholes, no excuses, and no exceptions. Today, we took a major step forward by passing my bipartisan bill, the Child Predators Accountability Act, out of”.

Later that day, Harris cited global statistics on online child exploitation in another message: “1 in 12 children worldwide have faced online sexual exploitation or abuse. This crisis demands action NOW. My Child Predators Accountability Act of 2025 closes dangerous legal loopholes and ensures predators face full justice—no excuses, no exceptions.”

On the same day, Harris addressed concerns about North Carolina truck licenses issued to foreigners. He wrote: “Over 50% of North Carolina truck licenses issued to foreigners were issued ILLEGALLY. Secretary Duffy should withhold $50 million in federal funds if these licenses aren’t revoked—countless American lives are at risk!”

The passage of the Child Predators Accountability Act follows ongoing efforts in Congress to address gaps in legislation related to child protection and online safety. According to international organizations such as UNICEF and Interpol, online child sexual exploitation remains a significant concern globally.

In North Carolina, state officials have periodically reviewed licensing procedures after previous reports highlighted vulnerabilities in how commercial driver’s licenses are granted to non-citizens.
