Rep. Mark Harris, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, has recently posted several updates on social media concerning legislative activity and public policy issues.

On December 11, 2025, Harris highlighted progress on legislation related to homeschooling with the post: “BREAKING

Today’s successful markup of my bipartisan bill, the Homeschool Graduation Recognition Act, is an important step toward ending discrimination against homeschooled students.

If a homeschool graduate meets or exceeds the very same academic standards as a”.

The following day, December 12, 2025, Harris announced his participation in a televised discussion about local crime trends in Charlotte: “I’m joining @MorningsMaria at 6:20am ET to discuss the latest on Charlotte’s crime wave — be sure to tune in!”.

Later that morning, he commented on federal pandemic-related policies and their fiscal impact: “The pandemic is OVER.

Biden’s COVID subsidies should be too.

If these subsidies live on, taxpayers will foot a $400 BILLION bill over the next decade — going straight into Big Insurance’s pockets!

@FoxBusiness @MorningsMaria”.

The debate over federal COVID-19 relief measures continues as lawmakers discuss when and how to phase out pandemic-era financial support programs. President Biden previously extended certain healthcare subsidies under the American Rescue Plan Act and subsequent legislation; critics argue that maintaining these subsidies could significantly increase federal expenditures over time while supporters claim they help millions maintain access to affordable coverage.

Homeschooling policy has been subject to ongoing national discussion regarding recognition of diplomas and access to higher education or employment for homeschooled students. The proposed Homeschool Graduation Recognition Act seeks to address concerns about potential discrimination faced by this group.

Charlotte has experienced periods of increased crime rates in recent years, prompting calls from public officials for greater community engagement and law enforcement resources.
