Rep. Mark Harris, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from North Carolina, posted several messages on social media in early August 2025 recognizing key figures and institutions in American government and national security.
On August 2, Harris extended birthday wishes to the Vice President, writing “Happy birthday, @VP!! https://t.co/nceQBj7f60”.
Two days later, on August 4, he commemorated the anniversary of the United States Coast Guard’s founding. In his post he stated: “Since this day in 1790, the United States Coast Guard has kept Americans safe and secure by standing watch over our shores. To its brave men and women, thank you for your service—and keep up the great work! Happy birthday, @USCG! https://t.co/ISTU1A2mSM”. The Coast Guard was established on August 4, 1790, making it one of the oldest organizations within the U.S. federal government.
Later that same day, Harris expressed support for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), stating: “American patriots support ICE in their mission to secure our homeland https://t.co/14FuYHOe0E https://t.co/0DcklFylaY”. ICE is a federal agency under the Department of Homeland Security tasked with enforcing immigration laws and investigating criminal activities related to border security.
The posts reflect Rep. Harris’s public acknowledgments of individuals and agencies central to U.S. governance and national security during early August 2025.
