Small businesses in Union County can apply for a grant to help keep their doors open during the COVID-19 public health crisis.

The county has earmarked $1 million for the Union County Back to Business Grant Program to help businesses with 50 employees or less as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to hurt the local economy, officials said in a Spet. 11 release

Grants are available until the end of November, or until all the money is awarded, officials said in the release. Qualified applicants could receive up to $25,000. The award amount depends on the number of employees, both full and part-time, as of the beginning of 2020.

The goal is to help offset the loss of revenue during the pandemic and help businesses keep their employees and provide them a paycheck, officials said in the release.

Business interested in receiving the grant must apply online, and include tax documents with last year's gross sales, completed IRS W-9 & W-3 Forms (when applicable), and a motorized affidavit of impact.
