City of Monroe issued the following announcement on Sept. 22.
The City of Monroe Water Resources Construction Division will be replacing approximately 480 linear feet of existing eight-inch cast iron water main along East Green Street between Hough Street and South Thompson Street to improve water service to customers in this area. Construction activities are scheduled to begin on Sept. 28 and are anticipated to conclude by Oct. 30.
Temporary road closures may be necessary within the project limits between the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Therefore, it is suggested that alternate routes be considered. The City will make efforts to maintain access to all residences along East Green Street. Emergency service vehicle access will be provided at all times as well as normal collection of garbage and residential/commercial deliveries.
There may be a short-term interruption to water service during construction of the new water main and transfer of services. The City will make every effort to notify customers in advance. All damaged/disturbed items will be restored or replaced at the end of the project.
We apologize in advance for any inconveniences experienced during our construction. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the City of Monroe Water Resources Department at (704) 282-4601.
