Union County issued the following announcement on Dec. 17.
Most Union County Government offices and facilities will be closed Thursday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 25, 2020 in observance of the Christmas holiday and on Friday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year's Day.
Union County Public Library: All library locations will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, 26 and on Jan. 1. Library locations will be open on Saturday, Jan. 2 for regular hours of 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Cane Creek Park: Cane Creek Park will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, 26 and on Jan. 1.
Waste and Recycling: All Waste and Recycling Centers and the Union County Landfill are closed to residents on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. The landfill on Austin Chaney Road will be open to commercial customers only on Thursday, Dec. 24 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and closed for all services on Christmas Day. All Waste and Recycling Centers and the Union County Landfill will resume regular hours on Saturday, Dec. 26 and on Saturday, Jan. 2 after each holiday.
