City of Monroe issued the following announcement.
The City of Monroe Construction Division will be replacing approximately 1,600 linear feet of existing six-inch cast-iron water main along Iceman Street between Dover Place and Guild Street. The improvement will enhance water service to customers in this area. Construction activities are scheduled to start on July 26 and are anticipated to conclude by September 30.
Temporary road closures will be necessary within the project limits between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Therefore, it is suggested that alternate routes be considered. The City will make efforts to maintain access to all residences in the project area. In the event a temporary closure is necessary for Iceman Street between Dover Place and the end, residents will be notified in advance to make any necessary accommodations. Emergency service vehicle access will be provided at all times. Normal collection of garbage and residential/commercial deliveries will be provided access.
There may be short-term interruptions to water service during construction of the new water main and transfer of services. The City will make every effort to notify customers in advance. All damaged/disturbed items will be restored or replaced at the end of the project.
We apologize in advance for any inconveniences experienced during our construction. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the City of Monroe Water Resources Department at (704) 282-4601.
