St. Andrews University recently issued the following announcement.
The Appachlain Athletic Conference released its 2021 preseason coaches poll for men's soccer and St. Andrews was picked to finish fourth among the conference's fourteen teams.
Reinhardt was picked to finish at the top of the conference after earning a share of the 2020-21 regular-season title and tournament champs. The Eagles received nine of the thirteen first-place votes and 178 points.
Milligan was predicted to finish just behind Reinhardt and earned four first-place votes and 170 points.
Tennesse Wesleyan earned 159 points and rounded out the top three teams.
The Knights earned 135 points after finishing the season 6-6-1 overall and 6-4-1 in conference play. Last season St. Andrews men's soccer finished with 29 goals, 15 assists, and 73 points.
Point (122), Union (113), Montreat (104), Columbia International (98), Bryan (91), and Truett McConnell (64) finish out the top ten in the coaches' poll.
The poll was voted upon by the head men's soccer coaches of the AAC. The top eight teams will advance to the conference tournament, set to begin in November.
