St. Andrews University Athletics recently issued the following announcement.
The 2021 AAC women's soccer preseason poll voted on by the conference coaches was released on Thursday afternoon. Truett McConnell and Reinhardt were tied as the conference's top teams. The St. Andrews Knights were picked to finish fifth out of fifteen teams.
Despite being tied with 216 points, Truett McConnell edged out Reinhardt with eight first-place votes while the Eagles received six. Tennesse Wesleyan (191) and Montreat (181) were voted third and fourth respectively.
After just missing a playoff birth last season with an overall record of 7-7-1 and 7-5-1 AAC, the Knights have been predicted to finish fifth. As a team, St. Andrews ended the season with 20 goals and six assists.
Milligan was voted in sixth place with 141 points followed by a tie for seventh place at 135 points between Bryan and Brenau. Columbia International (97) and Point (96) completed the top ten.
The top ten teams will advance to the AAC Tournament held in early November.
