Masks Required in City Facilities

09

City of Monroe issued the following announcement on Aug. 20.

Masks required when inside City of Monroe Facilities

In an effort to help reduce the spread of Covid-19 and the Delta variant, especially as it pertains to maintaining levels of service throughout the City, effective Monday (Aug. 23), masks will be required by the public in all City indoor areas. If you are doing business in person at a City facility, you are required to wear a mask. If you are meeting with City staff or attending a committee meeting, you are required to wear a mask.

In turn, City employees will be masked in all indoor City facility public areas. If they are in work spaces where they do not deal with the public and can safely social distance, they have the option to wear masks.

Individuals using fitness equipment at the Monroe Aquatics and Fitness Center and the Old Armory Community Center and other recreation centers are not required to wear masks when exercising, but they are strongly encouraged.
