2

St. Andrews University issued the following announcement on Sept. 8.

After an hour and a half rain delay, the St. Andrews men's soccer team played to a tie on Tuesday night, as the Knights and SCAD-Savannah ended with a 0-0 draw in a road contest at the SCAD athletic complex in Savannah, Georgia.

The evenly played match saw St. Andrews finished with eight shots compared to SCAD-Savannah's 20. The Knights controlled possession throughout the match and attempted five corner kicks.

During Tuesday's game, the Knights received a season-low one yellow card, despite committing 10 fouls.

Individually, Andre Roberts, Jesus Sonara, Thiago Mendes, and Marcos De La Hoz each finished with one shot on goal. Roberts was the only person to register two shots for the Knights.

The Knights' defense prevented the Bees from any opportunities to create any shots as SCAD-SSavannah finished with no shots on goal. Alessandro Benedetti registered 110 minutes in goal.

St. Andrews men's soccer will now prepare for Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) action as the host Point University on Sunday, Sept 12. The affair between the Knights and Skyhawks will start at 3:00 pm.
