Fairview Heights Elementary School recently issued the following announcement.
Third grade students at FHS participated in a STEM challenge. The challenge involved the construction of a working model representing the parts of the skeletal and muscular systems. They used the Engineering Design Process to determine how the materials of straws, string, paper, and tape could be used to demonstrate how the parts of the skeletal system and the muscular system work together for the human body to move. The students made a connection to the real world STEM career, occupational therapist, during the challenge.
