City of Monroe recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Monroe Construction Division will be replacing and relocating approximately 250 linear feet of existing six-inch cast iron water main along South Hayne Street between South Church Street and Culpepper Street. The improvement will enhance water service to customers in this area. Construction activities began on Jan. 20 and are anticipated to conclude by Feb. 25.
Temporary road closures will be necessary within the project limits between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Therefore, it is suggested that alternate routes be considered. The City will make efforts to maintain access to all residences in the project area. Emergency service vehicle access will be provided at all times. Normal collection of garbage and residential/commercial deliveries will continue.
No water service interruptions are anticipated. However, should any short-term interruptions to water service occur during construction of the new water main, the City will make every effort to notify customers in advance. All damaged/disturbed items will be restored or replaced at the end of the project.
We apologize for any inconveniences experienced during our construction. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the City of Monroe Water Resources Department at (704) 282-4601.
