Mineral Springs ranked 497th in North Carolina for the percentage of households receiving food stamps in 2020, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

There were 92 Mineral Springs households (8.2 percent) who received food stamps. Mineral Springs' population was 3,057 in 2020.

The city with the largest percentage of households receiving food stamps in the state was Hassell, which had 17 of 22 households receiving food stamps, 69.1 percent more than Mineral Springs. In 2020 the population of Hassell was 34.
