Emergency medicine physician Nathan Miller, M.D., was recently named FirstHealth EMS Assistant Medical Director.

This appointment includes the FirstHealth Regional EMS system, which is comprised of EMS in Chatham, Lee, Montgomery and Richmond counties, as well as EMS units and specialty care transport units within Moore County and Hoke County EMS systems.

Miller joined FirstHealth and Sandhills Emergency Physicians in July 2022 after completing an emergency medicine residency and EMS fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and medical degree at the University of Iowa.

“Dr. Miller is the first EMS fellowship-trained physician to serve our community at FirstHealth and Sandhills Emergency Physicians,” said Matthew Harmody, M.D., MBA, FirstHealth EMS medical director. “His knowledge and expertise make Dr. Miller an ideal assistant medical director for FirstHealth EMS, and we look forward to his contributions in this new role.”

Dr. Miller joins Katie Newell, M.D., as a FirstHealth EMS assistant medical director.
