WASHINGTON – Congressman Dan Bishop (NC-08) firmly opposed the House's recent approval of a significant spending bill, denouncing it as "Washington’s latest omnibus spending abomination." In a statement, Bishop criticized the bipartisan support for the bill, stating, "Today, 286 Members stood shoulder to shoulder to perpetuate the bipartisan sell-out of our nation’s future by passing yet another $1+ trillion spending bill."

Bishop expressed grave concerns about the implications of the bill, particularly its impact on immigration policies, saying, "This bill affirms and funds Biden’s open border invasion. At this very moment, Biden is allowing illegal immigrants to pour across our border and is using your tax dollars to sow disorder and chaos in our communities." Furthermore, he pointed out the presence of earmarks in the bill that he believes support the "radical left's cultural indoctrination crusade against our children and families," adding, "They are selling our children and grandchildren deeper down the swirling debt spiral."

Highlighting the responsibility of Congress in fiscal matters, Bishop lamented the loss of control over budget decisions, stating, "Congress holds the power of the purse, but the Swamp has yet again forfeited that power and abdicated our leverage to combat Biden’s disastrous policies. Americans deserve better." In conclusion, Bishop issued a strong warning to fellow Members of Congress, declaring, "Woe betide the Members who vote for this atrocious bill."
