In the 2022-23 school year, English scores among the county district dropped to 13.4%, a decline of 4.6% from the previous school year when 18% of students were considered ready for post-secondary education.
For comparison, North Carolina saw 39% of its students meeting or exceeding the ACT benchmarks for English during this year.
Beyond English, 12.3% of Anson County 12th-graders met Reading college readiness benchmarks in the 2022-23 school year. On Science, 5.9% of students were ready for college, and Math scores revealed less than 5% of seniors also met the standard.
