On Sunday, March 23, former Weddington High School standout Jadyn Howell’s current college team, the North Carolina Tar Heels, won 14-3 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Louisville Cardinals.
The game took place at Anderson Softball Stadium. This was their sixth matchup against the Cardinals this season.
The Tar Heels’ next game is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26 at 5 p.m. at UNCG Softball Stadium against UNC Greensboro Spartans.

The House has passed Congressman Mark Harris’s Cashless Bail Reporting Act requiring federal reporting on jurisdictions using cashless bail for serious offenses. Harris says this measure aims at greater transparency following concerns over recent violent crimes.
The City of Monroe has launched its new mass notification system called Monroe Alerts. Residents can now receive emergency updates as well as community news via text message, phone call or email.
