On Tuesday, April 1, former Marvin Ridge High School standout Wes Estes’ current college team, the Wofford Terriers, won 5-2 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the USC Upstate Spartans.
The game took place at Fifth Third Park. This was their second matchup against the Spartans this season.
The Terriers’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 4 at 5:30 p.m. at Russell C. King Field against Samford Bulldogs.

The House has passed Congressman Mark Harris’s Cashless Bail Reporting Act requiring federal reporting on jurisdictions using cashless bail for serious offenses. Harris says this measure aims at greater transparency following concerns over recent violent crimes.
The City of Monroe has launched its new mass notification system called Monroe Alerts. Residents can now receive emergency updates as well as community news via text message, phone call or email.
