On Wednesday, March 26, former Anson High School standout Camryn Martin’s current college team, the North Carolina Tar Heels, won 15-5 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the UNC Greensboro Spartans.
The game took place at UNCG Softball Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Spartans this season.
The Tar Heels’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 28 at 3 p.m. at Skytop Softball Stadium against Syracuse Orange.

The House has passed Congressman Mark Harris’s Cashless Bail Reporting Act requiring federal reporting on jurisdictions using cashless bail for serious offenses. Harris says this measure aims at greater transparency following concerns over recent violent crimes.
The City of Monroe has launched its new mass notification system called Monroe Alerts. Residents can now receive emergency updates as well as community news via text message, phone call or email.
