Due to forecasted impacts from Tropical Storm Ian, Board of County Commissioners Chairman Dennis Rape has declared a State of Emergency for Union County

Due to forecasted impacts from Tropical Storm Ian, Board of County Commissioners Chairman Dennis Rape has declared a State of Emergency for Union County that goes into effect today, Sept. 29, at 5 p.m. This declaration gives the Union County Sheriff's Office, Monroe, NC authority to close roads impacted by flooding and issue citations to motorists who disregard emergency barricades.
