Due to forecasted impacts from Tropical Storm Ian, Board of County Commissioners Chairman Dennis Rape has declared a State of Emergency for Union County that goes into effect today, Sept. 29, at 5 p.m.
The City of Monroe Water Resources Department has announced the closing of Lake Lee, Lake Monroe, and Lake Twitty beginning on Friday, Sept. 30 through Sunday, Oct. 2 due to potential severe weather.
