Town of Indian Trail issued the following announcement on Aug. 31.

Join an Indian Trail Board or Committee

Are you looking to have a bigger impact on the future of Indian Trail or do you have ideas on new ways the Town could address issues important to you? Then consider joining one of Indian Trail’s Boards or Committees.

The Town has openings for:

The Planning Board

One open seat

One-year term with residency required

Board of Adjustment

Two open seats

One-year term with residency required

Boards and Committees typically meet once a month and are appointed by Town Council after applying. They work to research and debate a number of different issues and policies that come before the Town and make recommendations to the Indian Trail Town Council on the appropriate steps to take.

The Planning Board reviews future growth within the Town and ensures consistency with current plans and regulations, including the Comprehensive Plan, rezoning requests, conditional use permits and more.

The Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals and interpretations of the Town’s Unified Development Ordinance.

If you have experience in these areas and are interested in joining a Board, fill out an application on our website at www.indiantrail.org/305/Boards-Committees. If you have any questions, contact Town Clerk Kathy Queen at klq@indiantrail.org or 704.821.5401.
